When I attempt to send email to an invalid host, for example test@yahoo.co ( bad TLD), script execution halts with this error:

Quote:

Error: invalid host value on MAIL5->send() in signup.php on line 146

... which is this line:

Code:

$m->Send('client')

I'm using PHP 5's filter function to verify the email, ...

Code:

filter_var($_POST['email'], FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)

...but unfortunately example@yahoo.co (as well as others with similar problems) get through as they are technically properly formed.

Even when I turn off XPM error messages, the script still halts at that line.

How can I let the script continue executing even if the email cannot be sent?

For PHP5 go to SMTP5.php file and modify all lines that have:
Code:
is_hostname($host, true
into this:
Code:
is_hostname($host, false
Put the "false" value for second parameter where you see "is_hostname()" function, this will avoid using "gethostbyname()" php function.
